Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times vary; schedule may include days and nights as needed; acute care unit)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care in an acute care setting, supporting daily living needs
Assist nursing staff with vital signs, patient hygiene, mobility, and safe transfers
Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to the clinical team
Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting to support continuity of care
Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a safe, clean patient environment
Support discharge preparation and patient education under nurse direction

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
Experience or comfort working in acute care settings preferred
Ability to perform physical aspects of patient care, including lifts and transfers
Strong communication and teamwork skills with an emphasis on patient-centered care
Basic understanding of medical documentation and charting practices
Ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing care and acute care routines
Familiarity with infection control and patient safety protocols
Skill in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families
Time management and organization in a fast-paced clinical environment
