Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiology care during 24-hour call shifts, managing consults and admissions
• Perform and interpret echocardiography, treadmill stress tests, and chemical stress tests
• Collaborate closely with inpatient Advanced Practice Providers to deliver safe, efficient patient care
• Respond promptly to callbacks and urgent cardiology needs during your coverage window
• Document patient encounters and diagnostic interpretations accurately in the Cerner EHR
• Communicate clearly with hospital teams, patients, and families to support high-quality care

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiology (required)
• Active MD or DO (or eligible) with privileges or ability to obtain privileges for the facility
• Demonstrated experience in inpatient cardiology and hospital call coverage
• Proficiency performing and interpreting echocardiograms, treadmill and chemical stress tests
• Experience with Cerner EHR preferred
• Comfort working collaboratively with APPs and hospital teams

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certification in Cardiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong diagnostic interpretation skills for echo and stress testing
• Inpatient cardiology management including acute consults and admissions
• 24-hour call workflow and triage decision-making
• EHR documentation best practices (Cerner experience helpful)
• Clear clinical communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
