Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Lead therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional activities with safety and compassion
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress and response to interventions in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and injury prevention
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care
• Maintain a safe treatment environment, perform equipment checks, and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in New Hampshire, or eligible to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working with adult and geriatric populations in a skilled setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to document clearly in an electronic medical record
• Professional, reliable, and patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Completion of clinical training/practicum as part of PTA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercise, modalities, and manual techniques
• Gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
• Skilled in patient assessment and progress documentation
• Familiarity with safety, fall prevention, and ADL retraining
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Basic proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation
