Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities
• Document care accurately and timely to support individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you’ll be the hands-on caregiver residents count on
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Background check, TB test and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Comfort working with older adults, including those with dementia or complex care needs
• Reliable, professional, and a team player with excellent communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (or equivalent certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of safe patient handling and basic mobility assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Skill in observing, reporting, and documenting resident status
• Ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care for older adults
• Basic charting/EHR familiarity and following care plans
