Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to geriatric residents during night shifts
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor resident status and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Accurately document care, observations, and any incidents in the resident record
• Support safe transfers and positioning, following facility protocols to prevent injury
• Participate in team handoffs and communicate effectively with nurses, families, and other care partners

Qualifications

• Active GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedules
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric setting is a plus

Education

• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care fundamentals and common age-related conditions
• Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
