Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Support rehabilitation plans by following care team instructions and documenting resident progress
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and visitors
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and family members to promote comfort and dignity
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working with the geriatric population and in a rehab setting
• Dependable, compassionate, and able to follow care plans and directions
• Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a recognized GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and infection control practices
• Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with nurses and therapists
• Time management to complete assigned tasks during each shift
