Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients to create individualized, goal-driven treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercise to restore function and independence
• Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions for optimal outcomes
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, fall prevention, and safe mobility
• Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions to next level of care

Qualifications

• Current Maryland physical therapy license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program (DPT preferred)
• Comfort working in a rehab/long-term care environment such as Powerback
• Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on treatment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork mindset
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master's in Physical Therapy acceptable
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy techniques
• Familiarity with ADL training, gait training, and assistive device recommendations
• Competent documentation skills and knowledge of clinical outcome measures
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and motivate patients
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a busy rehabilitation setting
