Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance, helping residents move with dignity
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with meal service and feeding support while observing dietary guidelines
• Record care activities and observations accurately in resident charts and care plans
• Foster a warm, respectful environment that encourages social engagement and emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (state-accepted) or equivalent completed training
• CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain
• Experience or demonstrated comfort working with the geriatric population preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Reliable transportation and ability to arrive for scheduled shifts

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Ability to take and record vital signs and basic observations
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
