Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote dignity and comfort
• Support meal and hydration routines while accommodating dietary or safety needs
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations as directed
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility procedures to protect residents

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working overnight/NOC shifts in a long-term care setting
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach with older adults

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of elder care best practices and common geriatric needs
• Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation skills
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Infection prevention and universal precautions
• Team collaboration and clear communication with nursing staff
