Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with warmth and dignity
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and record resident vitals and behavior changes accurately in the chart
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in social and recreational activities
• Follow care plans and communicate observations and concerns promptly to nursing staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents at all times

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing is a plus
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach and strong communication skills

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care and common geriatric needs
• Skill in safely assisting with transfers, ambulation, and positioning
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
• Understanding of infection control and universal precautions
• Good teamwork, time management, and the ability to follow care plans
• Respectful communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
