Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to geriatric residents with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Accurately document care provided and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a calm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to per diem scheduling
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and meet facility immunization requirements
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Excellent observation skills for detecting changes in condition
• Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Team-player attitude and reliability on night shift
