Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on personal care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff to ensure timely interventions
• Support safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Assist with meal service and feeding while observing dietary needs and preferences
• Maintain clean, dignified living spaces and follow infection control protocols
• Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the care team

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or state equivalent
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on care to older adults
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Background check and any facility-required screenings completed

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or CNA training

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident behavior or condition
• Familiarity with proper lifting, transfer techniques, and use of assistive devices
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate approach to dementia care and geriatric needs
