Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for geriatric residents
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, grooming, feeding, and toileting needs
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition accurately
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate observations to nursing staff
• Support a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to promote comfort and dignity
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and assisting residents

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder dignity
• Skilled in ADLs, transfers, and safe patient handling
• Basic vital signs monitoring and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
• Teamwork, time management, and strong observational skills
• Comfortable communicating with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
