Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
• Support safe transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and promote independence
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide courteous, person-centered care that honors resident preferences and routines
• Document care and vital observations accurately and timely in the resident record
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
• Collaborate with the care team and families to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and personal care for older adults
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Previous experience in long-term care or senior living is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Hands-on skills in ADLs, transfers, and basic resident care
• Accurate documentation and observation/reporting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Infection control and basic safety awareness
