Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures, including safe transfers and use of assistive devices
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members and participate in care planning
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for residents

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Previous experience in geriatric, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility vaccination/immunization requirements
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification or completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder-centered communication
• Basic patient care skills including bathing, feeding, toileting, and positioning
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Ability to observe, document, and report changes in patient condition
• Teamwork, time management, and adaptability during busy shifts
