Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record resident vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents
• Communicate clearly with teammates and document care accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and meeting their personal care needs
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered caregiving
• Basic infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans, report observations, and document accurately
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to take direction from licensed nursing staff
