Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and safe use of lift equipment
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Take and record vital signs accurately and document observations in the resident record
• Support mealtime assistance and observe dietary needs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to promote resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working independently on night shift and collaborating with nursing staff
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support older adults
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of activities of daily living and basic bedside care
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs and simple observations
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe resident handling
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident safety
• Respectful, resident-centered approach with strong interpersonal skills
