Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the care team
• Support resident meals and feeding needs, observing dietary instructions and preferences
• Document resident status and care provided in a timely, accurate manner
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to follow care plans and promote positive outcomes
• Maintain infection control standards and a safe, clean environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (class listed as GNA) or equivalent state certification
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification recommended
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their physical and emotional needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with nursing staff
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers)
• Basic vital signs and resident observation
• Safe patient handling and mobility support
• Infection prevention and proper PPE use
• Clear, respectful communication with residents and families
• Accurate documentation and following care plans
