Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to adult and/or geriatric patients during night shifts
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per policy
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document patient care and observations thoroughly and professionally
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Support patient and family education with clear, respectful communication
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed for smooth workflow

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN credential (class listed as LPN|RN)
• Current state licensure appropriate for practice in Alabama
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS if applicable to unit
• Prior clinical experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shift

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Nursing program
• Completion of approved LPN or RN education program as applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and charting best practices
• Patient assessment and monitoring for acute and chronic conditions
• Familiarity with nursing documentation and electronic health records
• Infection control principles and safe patient handling
• Team collaboration and clear shift handoff communication
