Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
• Accurately document care, observations, and any incidents in resident records
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the healthcare team
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric care is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Ability to take and record basic vital signs and recognize changes
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
