Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to older adults
• Monitor, record, and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies consistently
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Build rapport with residents and their families to promote person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and physical care tasks
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and elder care best practices
• Basic vital sign measurement and resident observation skills
• Familiarity with infection control and safe care standards
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Team-oriented mindset and clear communication with clinical staff
