Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Provide compassionate hands-on care to promote dignity and comfort
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Help with safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with nursing staff to support individual care plans and goals

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus, but caring attitude matters most
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Comfortable with charting and following care plans accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Ability to follow directions and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
