Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe ambulation and transfers, using assistive devices and proper body mechanics
• Provide compassionate personal care while promoting independence and comfort
• Document care accurately and timely in facility records to ensure continuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to enhance resident quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• Comfortable and experienced providing direct care to older adults
• Ability to work overnight hours and remain alert and dependable
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
• Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Accurate documentation and time-management in a clinical setting
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective communication with residents and families
