Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers while encouraging independence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or eligible) in Alabama
• Active state registry status as required by state regulations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar setting is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and health screenings as required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of resident care principles and ADLs
• Ability to accurately take and document vital signs
• Infection control and safe-handling practices
• Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
• Teamwork mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs
• Basic charting and electronic documentation familiarity
