Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and document resident status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans and ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work nights and flexible per diem schedules
• Passing background check and required immunizations as per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach with older adults

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Familiar with basic charting and documentation practices
• Understanding of infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced long-term care environment
