Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as needed), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $16 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support safe mobility and transfers to promote independence and prevent falls
Help with meals and feeding while following individual care plans and dietary needs
Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly
Measure and document vital signs and routine observations accurately
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment while following infection control practices
Build trusting relationships with residents and families through compassionate care and clear communication

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or completion of an approved GNA program
Experience in long-term care or working with older adults is preferred
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach to care

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of a GNA training program or equivalent clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and safety practices
Ability to assist with ADLs and safe transfer techniques
Basic documentation and charting skills
Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident condition
Teamwork, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
