Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility safely
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to nursing staff
• Support mealtime and feeding, including dietary preference awareness
• Document care provided accurately and timely in resident records
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to promote dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited nurse aide program preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Previous experience in long term care or geriatric settings a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of GNA training program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Familiarity with basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to RNs
• Time management skills to support multiple residents effectively
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to pitch in during busy periods
• Basic computer or electronic charting literacy preferred
