Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and document vital signs and patient observations accurately and promptly
• Support safe patient mobility and transfers while following proper body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents
• Communicate changes in patient condition to nursing staff and participate in care planning
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure adherence to facility policies
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to residents and their families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or eligible to obtain) per Alabama requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Accurate charting and documentation practices
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Basic vital sign assessment and reporting
• Team collaboration and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
