Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfer techniques to prevent falls and injuries
• Document care delivered clearly and timely in resident charts
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and team members to coordinate care

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health screening requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder-focused compassion
• Skill in assisting with ADLs and safe patient transfers
• Basic vital signs measurement and recognition of common changes
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Teamwork, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
