Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record resident conditions and vital signs accurately and promptly
- Assist nursing team with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team
- Document care activities in the required records and report any changes in condition
Qualifications
- GNA certification required (or equivalent state certification/credential)
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar setting preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required background checks and TB screening
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program recommended
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary care team
- Good time management and reliable attendance
