Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Monitor and record vital signs, changes in condition, and care provided
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
- Document assessments and interventions clearly and timely in the chart
- Support residents with activities of daily living and promote independence
- Respond to clinical concerns and escalate when necessary to ensure safety
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in Alabama (required)
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working a rotating 12-hour day shift schedule (3 on/2 off/2 on/3 off)
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- LPN diploma or equivalent from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Basic wound care and pressure injury prevention
- Assessment of vital signs and recognition of clinical changes
- Charting in electronic health record systems
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
