Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Support a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and visitors
Qualifications
- Valid GNA or CNA certification (Maryland) required
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA/CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident-centered care and ADLs
- Basic clinical skills: vitals, feeding, toileting assistance
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Compassionate communication with residents and families
