Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in a wide range of cases across 16 service lines, including complex surgeries
- Support robotic DaVinci Xi cases (Gyn, Uro, General) and advanced ENT procedures
- Maintain sterile field, prepare instruments and implants, and anticipate surgeon needs
- Communicate clearly with the OR team and respond to call within the required 30-minute timeframe
- Chart accurately in Cerner and complete required perioperative documentation
- Participate in unit orientation and collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure smooth case flow
Qualifications
- Active Washington State surgical technologist registration/license required at time of submittal (no pending licenses)
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of scrubbing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- DaVinci Xi robotic experience required (Gyn, Uro, General)
- ENT procedure experience a must (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, thyroid/parathyroid soft tissue)
- Able to meet call requirements (weekday and 24-hour weekend call rotation) and respond within 30 minutes
Education
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong instrument and sterile technique knowledge for general, ortho, neuro, cardio/thoracic and transplant cases
- Proficiency with DaVinci Xi robotic setup and instrumentation
- Experience with Cerner charting and perioperative documentation
- Ability to manage high-volume OR days (50–65 cases across suites)
- Excellent teamwork, adaptability across multiple floors and service lines, and positive teaching mindset
