Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans carefully
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current GNA or CNA certification (as required by Maryland regulations)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, TB test, and required health screenings
- Comfortable with lifting/moving patients and performing physical tasks
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved GNA/CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care techniques and safety procedures
- Familiarity with ADLs (activities of daily living) and mobility assistance
- Good observation skills to recognize changes in resident condition
- Able to follow care plans, document accurately, and communicate clearly
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
