Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and personal assistance to residents
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Collaborate with the care team to promote resident comfort and dignity
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent training required
- Current CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work nights and maintain reliable attendance
- Strong interpersonal skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate clearly with the team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care techniques and infection control
- Ability to perform vital signs, basic hygiene care, and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with documentation best practices and charting
- Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in condition
- Teamwork and time management in a fast-paced care environment
