Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Support licensed nursing staff with bedside care and basic treatments
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
- Document care in resident records and communicate effectively with the care team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that promotes comfort and independence
Qualifications
- Current GNA or CNA certification (state recognized) — must be valid
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
- Ability to pass state-required background checks and health screenings
- CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to safely lift and move residents and perform physical aspects of care
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA/CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control, hand hygiene, and safe care practices
- Safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Compassionate resident-centered care and effective communication
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
