Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates and pediatrics
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care treatments and diagnostic procedures
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment using best practices and safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and care plans in a clear, reassuring way
- Document patient status, interventions, and progress accurately and timely
- Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with advanced life support when needed
Qualifications
- Current NBRC - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- Current Oregon Respiratory Care License required
- Healthcare Provider BLS required
- ACLS, NRP, and PALS required for GSR Respiratory Therapy roles
- Two years clinical respiratory care experience preferred, neonatal and pediatric experience preferred
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor degree preferred where applicable
- NBRC credentials as noted in qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based respiratory therapies
- Proficiency with ventilator management and respiratory diagnostic equipment
- Skilled in pediatric and neonatal respiratory care techniques (preferred)
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and communicate clearly
