Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to capture clear, diagnostic-quality images
- Assess images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as needed
- Identify and document normal and abnormal imaging findings to support diagnosis
- Communicate concise summaries of imaging results to physicians and care teams
- Alert physicians immediately for urgent or critical findings
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear explanations during procedures
- Maintain accurate patient and procedural documentation and follow safety protocols
Qualifications
- ARDMS certification required (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Valid Oklahoma state license required; compact license accepted
- Minimum 6 months of relevant clinical experience required
- Ability to submit all compliance documentation at least one week prior to start
- Local candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a rate adjustment
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred
- Or equivalent clinical training and ARDMS certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient operation of ultrasound imaging systems and transducers
- Strong image optimization and artifact recognition skills
- Excellent communication with physicians, nurses, and patients
- Knowledge of safety, infection control, and HIPAA practices
- Ability to prioritize and escalate urgent findings appropriately
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced regional referral hospital environment
