Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate for a full range of interventional radiology procedures, supporting neuro IR, vascular, and neurosurgery cases
- Provide reliable on-call coverage as part of a multi-disciplinary team for stroke and emergency cases
- Collaborate closely with IR RNs, charge nurses, and radiologists to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain radiation safety protocols and use your radiation badge appropriately
- Document procedures accurately in Cerner EMR and GE Centricity RIS; manage images in Philips Intellispace PACS
- Operate and assist with department imaging equipment (biplane and single-plane systems, hybrid OR setups)
- Support continuous quality and safety initiatives during procedures and patient care
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) certified (required)
- Valid Washington state radiologic technologist license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- IV certification preferred but not required (IR RNs typically start IVs)
- Minimum 1 year of IR or related experience required; travel experience preferred
- Experience at a stroke-receiving facility preferred
- Ability to be on call and respond within 30 minutes when scheduled
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred
- ARRT (R) certification required
- Washington state radiologic technologist license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR, GE Centricity RIS, and Philips Intellispace PACS
- Familiarity with Philips imaging equipment, biplane and single-plane angiography systems
- Comfort working in hybrid OR environments and with CT/IR scanner setups
- Skilled in sterile technique, scrubbing, and circulating during complex IR procedures
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for multidisciplinary case coordination
- Ability to handle varying case volumes (typically 10-20 cases/day plus strokes)
