Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality, patient-centered interventions
- Implement treatment plans — carry out therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers and mobility activities
- Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the supervising therapist
- Document treatments clearly and promptly in Epic inpatient charting
- Educate patients and families on safe mobility, home exercises, and fall-prevention strategies
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care transitions
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program or equivalent education
- Current state PTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start (follow facility/state rules)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical PTA experience (acute care experience a plus)
- Comfortable with 4x10 schedule and 12-hour orientation
- Strong communication skills and reliable professional presence
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program (or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercise, transfers, gait training and ADL support
- Familiarity with acute care workflows and safety protocols
- Proficient documentation skills; experience with Epic inpatient charting is a plus
- Ability to follow treatment plans, measure outcomes, and adjust care as directed
- Team-oriented approach and clear, compassionate patient communication
