Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound and radiology exams following prescribed protocols
- Operate and maintain ultrasound and imaging equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic images
- Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat scans when necessary to support accurate diagnosis
- Manage supplies and help maintain a clean, professional imaging environment
- Document patient records and perform necessary clerical duties accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure excellent patient-centered service
- Contribute to development and adherence to department policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing competency maintenance and cross-training as needed
Qualifications
- ARDMS board-eligible (required)
- ARDMS certification preferred or completion of certification as soon as eligible
- State licensure as required by Utah regulations
- Experience performing diagnostic ultrasound and radiology exams; previous hospital or outpatient experience preferred
- Strong patient communication skills and professional bedside manner
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to follow protocols, maintain documentation, and work collaboratively in a clinical team
Education
- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or related field preferred
- Completion of an accredited sonography program or equivalent clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic ultrasound equipment and image acquisition techniques
- Understanding of radiology and sonography protocols and safety practices
- Ability to assess image quality and troubleshoot technical issues
- Good organizational skills for inventory and supplies management
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and clerical documentation
- Customer service mindset with strong interpersonal skills
