Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; On-call every 2-3 weekdays 3:30 PM - 7:30 AM; Weekend on-call 48 hours every 2-3 weekends: Saturday 7:30 AM - Monday 7:30 AM; Rotating (day shifts with scheduled on-call nights and weekends). Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist and scrub for a wide range of operative procedures, maintaining strict aseptic technique
• Operate and support the DaVinci robotic system during robotic cases
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies for each case and ensure proper instrument counts
• Support Cesarean section cases with the perioperative team and anticipate surgical needs
• Float to appropriate units as needed, adapting quickly to different teams and workflows
• Respond to on-call notifications promptly and arrive within the required 30-minute window
• Participate in competency evaluations and Prime assessments to maintain clinical excellence
• Maintain accurate documentation, instrument tracking, and equipment checks

Qualifications

• Active Surgical Technologist certification or equivalent and license verification as required
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Proven experience with the DaVinci robotic system
• Clinical experience assisting with C-sections
• Ability to float to other units and work collaboratively across teams
• Willingness and ability to work scheduled on-call evenings and weekend rotations
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative procedures and sterile technique
• Experience with robotic instrumentation and OR robotics workflows
• Familiarity with obstetric surgical procedures including C-sections
• Proficient instrument handling, counts, and surgical setup
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and adapt when floating between units
• Understanding of infection control, patient safety, and OR documentation
