Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for ED patients through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation — you’ll be the patient advocate at the bedside
• Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and nursing interventions
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Assist with safe patient lifting, transport and transfers (with assistance) to maintain patient dignity and safety
• Maintain required certifications (BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIH) and follow infection control and vaccine policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver timely emergency care

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island RN license required
• Emergency Medicine experience required
• BLS, PALS, ACLS and NIH Certification required
• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations required per employer policy
• Ability to lift/assist patients and safely transport them in wheelchairs or stretchers
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Knowledge & Skills

• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Patient assessment and evaluation skills
• Care planning and nursing interventions in emergency settings
• Basic EKG interpretation and pharmacology knowledge
• Familiarity with CNE specialty competency processes and checklists
• Comfort with license verification systems such as Nursys
