Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal intensive care to critically ill newborns
• Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and advanced life-support interventions as needed
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor clinical status
• Administer and titrate medications and therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize care
• Educate and support families with compassion during stressful moments
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to unit protocols and safety standards
• Participate in competency exams and skills validation to ensure high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• DCI/BVP certification as listed
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Current immunizations and health screening documentation (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, drug screen)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced NICU environment and availability for per diem assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal Intensive Care best practices and protocols
• Neonatal Resuscitation techniques (NRP)
• Advanced patient assessment and monitoring
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
• Familiarity with DCI/BVP procedures
• Proven ability to pass Prime Core Competencies and specialty skill assessments
• Clear, compassionate family communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
