Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs) and 12-lead EKGs accurately and promptly
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators (Puritan Bennett 840) and provide advanced ventilator care
• Deliver respiratory therapies including high-flow nasal cannula, Vapotherm, chest physiotherapy, and aerosolized treatments
• Provide skilled care across populations — adults, pediatrics, and neonates when assigned (NICU experience required for neonatal assignments)
• Lead and function as Charge RT when scheduled, coordinating workflow and providing clinical leadership
• Document care thoroughly in Cerner and utilize Phillips telemetry for patient monitoring
• Perform and assist with bronchoscopy procedures as needed, demonstrating proficiency and safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — hospitalists, intensivists, pharmacy, and nursing — to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• NICU experience required to work neonatal patients
• Proficiency with bronchoscopy and ventilator management
• Experience working with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry preferred
• Travel assignment experience preferred
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holiday rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting (Puritan Bennett 840)
• Arterial blood gas interpretation and EKG performance
• High-flow nasal cannula and Vapotherm therapies
• Neonatal, pediatric and adult respiratory care principles
• Bronchoscopy assistance and airway management
• Experience with Cerner charting and Phillips telemetry monitoring
• Charge RT leadership and team coordination skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shift patterns and adapt to rotating schedules
