Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure all instruments are ready for orthopedic and vascular procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to keep cases moving smoothly
• Perform instrument counts and accurate documentation before, during, and after procedures
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control, sterilization protocols, and OR safety standards
• Respond promptly and professionally to call-backs and on-call assignments when needed
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and perioperative staff to deliver high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Must have orthopedic and vascular OR experience (explicit requirement)
• Active BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Willingness to accept on-call and call back assignments (do not apply if not available for call)
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification and required health screenings
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic and vascular surgical instrumentation and procedures
• Expertise in sterile technique and operating room workflow
• Comfortable performing accurate instrument and sponge counts
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
• Ability to adapt quickly and respond to urgent intraoperative needs
