Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients promptly and prioritize care based on physical and psychosocial needs
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document detailed nursing histories
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care
• Manage emergency situations and complications per Mount Nittany Medical Center policies and ENA standards
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education on treatment and discharge plans
• Ensure ED supplies and equipment are available and functioning for safe patient care
• Document patient responses to interventions and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure (required)
• American Heart Association BLS (Healthcare Provider) — current
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — current
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — current
• Valid NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Experience with Emergency Nursing, triage, patient assessment, and ED documentation
• EPIC computer charting experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Nursing principles and ENA standards
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• Care planning and nursing process implementation
• Thorough nursing documentation and charting (EPIC preferred)
• Patient and family education with clear communication skills
• Ability to maintain composure and use sound judgment in high-stress situations
• Team collaboration and strong interpersonal skills
