Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Develop and deliver patient and family teaching, ensuring understanding of care plans and discharge instructions
• Coordinate with nursing personnel and guide activities to maintain standards of care in the Telemetry unit
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately and timely
• Assist with specialty testing, competency exams and required unit checklists as needed

Qualifications

• Current, valid state RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Nursys registration (license verification required)
• DCI/BVP certification (listed in required certifications)
• Ventilator management experience (preferred)
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters (preferred)
• Ability to work night shifts and respond rapidly to clinical changes

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical judgment in acute care settings
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Care planning, implementation and outcome evaluation
• Patient and family education techniques
• Familiarity with Telemetry unit workflows and standards of care
• Basic pharmacology and safe medication administration
• Ventilator management fundamentals (preferred)
