Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric patients during cardiovascular procedures
• Assess procedure rooms and equipment to ensure full readiness prior to cases
• Monitor and record physiologic and hemodynamic data continuously throughout procedures
• Assist physicians and the cardiovascular team during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Maintain equipment and manage inventory so the lab runs smoothly
• Obtain and prepare supplies for individual cases, anticipating team needs
• Communicate patient condition clearly and promptly with physicians and the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) required and ACLS required upon hire and must be maintained
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area
• Nursys registration required
• Completion of facility/prime competency and skills checklist testing prior to or upon hire
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test)

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of cardiac physiology
• Cardiac patient monitoring and ECG rhythm interpretation
• Hands-on experience with cardiovascular/cath lab equipment and readiness checks
• Strong assessment skills for adult and geriatric populations
• Clear, timely communication with physicians and the care team
• Familiarity with performance improvement and quality initiatives
• Ability to maintain accurate continuous patient monitoring and documentation
• Comfort with Prime/competency testing processes and checklists
