Roles & Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients by coordinating care across preoperative and postoperative phases
• Circulate in the OR to support surgical teams and maintain patient safety
• Prepare patients for surgery and ensure smooth handoffs to recovery staff
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control practices
• Document care, track perioperative details, and communicate effectively with the team
• Respond to on-call needs promptly and professionally

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
• Experience as an OR Circulator or in perioperative nursing (preoperative and postoperative care)
• Comfort serving as a patient advocate and coordinating multidisciplinary care
• Willingness to work day shifts Monday-Friday and participate in on-call rotation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or ability to obtain promptly
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or diploma). BSN preferred but not required

• Perioperative nursing principles and OR workflow
• Preoperative assessment and postoperative patient management
• Patient advocacy and care coordination
• Sterile technique and infection prevention
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation
• Ability to prioritize and respond during urgent perioperative situations
